About me

I guess I originally began scrapbooking back in elementary school. My mom gave me one of her old cameras and I took lots of pictures, putting them in those old magnetic albums… a lot of the time I cut out around the pictures and wrote captions next to them.

That was my main way of “bookin’” until I was in college. (with the exception of the scrapbook I got in 8th grade that all my school memorabilia went in) In college my the boyfriend’s family (now my hubby) had yearly gatherings where each family group made an 8.5 x 11 page scrapbook page, got color copies made and everyone exchanged a page with everyone else.

From there I had the idea to scrapbook my wedding pictures. While that project remains unfinished (9+ years later) I have finished 3 albums for my daughter, 2 for my brother (high school graduation and a tour in Iraq), and several others as gifts for family members.

My bookin’ stuff is completely portable. Pretty much the only time I made for my hobby is a monthly craft night at my church. I try to get at least 5 pages done each time… sometimes I’m on a roll and get more done, and sometimes I spend too much time chattin’ with friends and get much less done! My dream is to some day have a little bit of space to do my bookin’ at home (other than on the dining table) that can also easily be taken to a crop.

Personally, I am married (9 years) and we have one daughter. We also share our house with a mini-schnauzer, a kitty, and 2 rabbits. I am also a preschool teacher in the 4 year old class at a child care center.
