This Saturday, May 2, 2009 is National Scrapbook Day. While I’m not going to any local events, I was thinking about making some goals for the “big” day, or possibly the weekend. I’m going to have a majority of the weekend free because my hubby is going away on a trip for school. Friday night I’m going to see “Spam-A-Lot” (and I’m super excited for that!!!) and most of Saturday I’ll probably be at my parents, but Saturday night I”ll be able to do work and also I’ll try to get stuff done on Sunday as well.  My number one goal is to finish my daughter’s “3rd year” scrapbook. I’ve been trying to finish it at my montly craft night for about 3 months… I want to get to the next book! Part of my problem is I still need to print out some pictures so I need to buy a refill for my photo printer since I can’t find the last one I bought (I’m convinced I haven’t used it yet and it’s hiding in one of the still packed boxes).  But I also just need to get it done. I’ve done too much playing the the cricut I think at craft night and not as much actual creating… but it has been fun!  After that goal, I’m hoping to get done at least my daughter’s 4th birthday… and maybe Thanksgiving. We’ll see. I’ll try to twitter about it.  If you want to follow my tweets you can find me at Erin_Ann.  I recently bought a several Die Cuts With a View stacks.. the Spring paper stack and the Spring glitter mats. I also got the Butterflies and Blossoms stack. I need to get the Spring cardstock stack though, so it’s easier to coordinate. I just got my new JoAnn flyer in the mail and saw the new Summer line is out.. argh! LOL I used a gift card to buy all the other stuff, but I should get the summer line now while it’s 50% off! Like I need more paper, though. It’s just so pretty!

Hello my Bookin’ Friends.  Today was the “final” day of the November Challenge.  I will leave the gallery folder open so if you decide to upload a “food” layout we can see it.  I’m considering offering a small “prize” for the challenges.  I would randomly draw a winner for maybe a $20 gift card to a craft store. What do you think?  I’ll think about it over the holidays.. maybe it will be something I’ll start in January.. what do you all think?  Each person who uploads a layout that is in the monthly challenge “theme” would earn one entry.

I saw a cute idea tonight on Ali Edwards’ blog.. making a button tree! It goes along with the fabric tree I saw on the JoAnn’s website also… both super cute ideas. Not sure if I will get around to either one, but I can dream!

Here is my Monthly Challenge layout. It’s from Thanksgiving 2006.  My daughter enjoyed more the drinking of sparkling cider than eating any of the food.

All the elements (minus the font) came from Kim’s Scrappin’.

The  Thanksgiving font, I found at WonderFonts.com.

After skipping the month of October for the monthly challenge, I have a new challenge for November. Since this is the month of Thanksgiving in the U.S. our challenge will be a layout about food.  It doesn’t have to be a Thanksgiving layout, anything about food.. apple picking…. berry picking… baby’s first food… halloween candy… your favorite food.. baking cookies… anything about food.

The challenge will end on November 24th. So get bookin’ and upload your creations to the Monthly Challenge Forum!
