Sunday evening

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Busy, busy day today!  After church we went to my niece’s birthday party. It was at a local pizza place with an old carousel. My daughter had a fun time riding it, 3 times at least! After that we hurried back to church for a pie social and thanksgiving time. There were songs and skits. Daughter went up with her Sunday School class, they all wore little pilgrim hats and sang a couple of turkey songs. Too cute! Here are the lyrics: To the tune of “Frere Jacque”

Mr. Turkey, Mr. Turkey
Run away, Run away
If you don’t be careful
You will be a mouthful

Hee hee.. makes me laugh every time.

Okay, on to bookin’ type things.  At Cen’s Loft there is the start of a Christmas Collab Kit. Check it out all week.  Cen also has some vintage Santa papers that are great too!

This week starts the crazy holiday season…. so enjoy and don’t forget to take lots of pictures and do some bookin’!

Here are a couple of birthday pages as promised. I hope you enjoy them!

Birthday Fun

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Celebrated my daughter’s 6th birthday day. There were 9 girls who attended, mostly from her soccer team. It was a good time, but a tiring day! It’s lots of work to decorate and get ready for a party.. and I thought I was pretty prepared for the day, only to find myself running behind and putting the finishing touches on things as guests arrived. I didn’t get to take as many pictures as I’d hoped, and as the sole picture taker of the family that meant I didn’t get pictures of some of the activites. Oh well… I think everyone had a great time though and now we have TONS of balloons hanging around the house! Soon I’ll have pictures to share from the fun time.

First Day of Kindergarten Scrapblog

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Made up this Scrapblog for my mom.. she’s been saying she hasn’t seen the first day of school pictures. Thought this would be more fun for her than me uploading them to Snapfish.

World Card Making Day

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

So I missed out on an opportunity today to put together scrapbook pages for adoptive families here in my town. I really wanted to go, but my family has too much going on this week for me to add yet another night away from home. A friend of mine went, so I look forward to hearing from her how it went.  Instead today we took our daughter to the dentist for the first time (can you say disaster?!) and did some fall bulb planting in the yard. I eagerly look forward to all the crocus and tulips in the spring, yeah!

This Saturday is World Card Making Day... from their website

World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to:

  • Celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family
  • Kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season
  • I know I have at least one card to make… a thank you to my Grandmother. So my goal is to at least do that one.  I don’t know how much more I will get done as my house is going to be rather chaotic this weekend. I will post a picture of the card though. If you make any cards for World Card Making Day, sign up in the forum and share it there!

    New scrapblog

    Sunday, August 17th, 2008

I played around with scrapblog this evening, bookin some pictures I took the other night when my little darling should have been sleeping, but she wasn’t! Lady of the Clips is the title to it. Enjoy!

    Not bookin’ related, but….

    Saturday, June 28th, 2008

I got this new book today.. called “The Explosive Child”. From what I read so far, it’s really great.. I’m even taking notes about it!  Who does that when they aren’t in school?!  But I really, really think (read: hope and pray) it’s going to help with the issues we have with our daughter. So far what I’ve read sounds so much like her and it’s the first book that REALLY pinpoints how she acts  (for a while I was going with the “spirited” theme.. but it’s so much more than that) and says that we are not out of our minds or making up how she is.. it’s really true. Always nice to have validation that “you are not alone” in your struggles.. while I know it to be true.. again, the validation is welcome. You just need a pick me up every once and a while.  I’ve been thinking for a while I need to make a layout of how life with her really is.. not just the sunnier side.. but everything about her day. I have done “tantrum” layouts, but not ever one that is just… well.. a “venting” layout.. maybe it won’t ever go into her album at all.. but to remind me, it did happen.. and we did get through it.
