Harvest Scrapbook Kit ~ layout

Growing up HFI’ve done another layout using a Tootlebugz kit. This one is called Harvest Fresh. I used a few more of the pictures from the photo shoot I did in October.  The layout has one other element as well, a brush overlay by The Scrappin’ Cop. I did color it pink (although not very well, but I didn’t feel like trying to figure it out, so if anyone has any helpful hints on how to recolor an overlay I would be more than pleased!).

Happy Bookin’!

Scrapbook Layout ~ age 7

Age 7_1

At the beginning of October, I took my daughter down to a nearby park and took some pictures of her. I am planning on using them as her yearly portraits instead of going to the “studio” and having them done. I was very pleased with how they turned out.  This layout showcases just one of the pictures I took that day. I used Tootlebugz “Imagine” kit. You can buy it at Designs in Digital. Through Sunday, November 18th it will be on sale for 40% off!

I’ve also updated my blog for fall.. I’ve used another of Tootlebugz kits called Harvest Fresh.

Back to School Scrapbook Layout

Welcome to Back to School time! Some of you may already have kids that have been back to school for a while. Caitryn just went back to school this week. I’ll have a photo story of it up soon. (My free trial of photoshop ran out, I have to wait a bit to have the money to buy it! So I’m on a digital layout hiatus.) Currently I have one Back to School premade scrapbook layout on my Etsy page. I’m hoping to get a few more made and up soon. Check out the pictures of it. There is only one… so when it’s gone, it’s gone!

Christmas Scrapbook Layout ~ Holiday Dresses

I know, I know… it’s not time to be thinking of Holiday dresses quite yet, but I scrapbook chronologically and thus am always “behind” in my bookin’. Currently I’m working on December of 2006. I did this layout of my 4 favorite dresses that Caitryn wore that Winter. In the effort to save money and cropping time I’ve started putting pictures together in mini collages using Picasa (Google’s free photo editor). Usually it makes my pictures into neat little squares, but this time when I plugged my 4 pictures in, they ended up in 4 strips! I loved the look… it highlighted the dresses perfectly. I used some Die Cuts With a View Christmas Stack paper that I’ve had forever. I’m not too keen on the patterns any more, but I try to use it when I can. For the title I ran a piece of paper through my Cricut. The first time I made the letters 2.5 inches tall. *laughing* One of these days I’ll figure out how BIG 2.5 inches square really is! I always seem to make my titles way too big the first go around. I think for the layout they are 1 inch, maybe 1.5. I liked the little signs for the year in the corner. I decided to keep the centers of the zeros out because I didn’t want to fight with trying to get them just right in there. I ran all the letters through my little xyron sticker maker, then nearly threw away the “H”! When I peeled the top layer off the xyron paper, the “H” stuck to it and I didn’t notice until after I had already wadded it up! Luckily it didn’t rip or anything, so I was able to salvage it. I’m not a super perfectionist, so my letters aren’t perfectly straight.. but a lot of times in scrapbooking that’s okay. It’s a handmade item.. it doesn’t have to be perfect!

Swimming Lesson Layout

The Designer of the Collab team I’m on has been hard at work with another group effort… this one is at Brownie Scraps and is called Design Survivor.. similar to the T.V show. Well, her team made a fabulous Dr. Seuss themed fish kit. Check it out at Tootlebugz!  While it may not still be free, you will be able to buy it soon. There are some SUPER cute things in this kit!  In my layout I only used a very small amount of the items.  But hopefully you can see from my layout what a great time you will have with it!

Happy Bookin’!
